SANDY SHORE: The energy is revving up on board as we cruise closer and closer to Mexico. I’ve always been allured by the border country and its glistening, relaxed coastal communities.

Having traveled all the way around South America, we’re now returning to the familiarity of ‘South of the Border’ and yet, despite that fact, Mexico calls out to those of us craving sunny and exotic. I feel the energy swelling and I am allowing for complete enchantment.

In the past 30 days or so, we’ve converted the 200 square foot cabin into several venues. “Radio 6453” is our recording studio for tracking voiceover and working on station biz. In the late night hours, we’ll get deep into The Smooth Lounge with friends and drink dark beer and listen to SmoothLounge Chill Out music from my iTunes library… and when we need to get deeper, we hang at “Mr. Lo’s Balcony” for conversation and craiq. I get the distinct feeling that the best is yet to come…

Here are the lyrics to one of my favorite tunes about Mexico by one of my favorite jazz chanteuses Cassandra Wilson. ~ss

GO TO MEXICO
Yellow sun in the distance
Turning me a pretty golden brown
Smoke and rum is my mission
Happiness is all I need right now
There's gonna come a time
There's gonna come a time when
I can go to Mexico
I believe in the here and now
I believe in the here and now
Tomorrow's pain will melt away
And there's gonna come a time
There will come a time, we'll be just like Mexico
When I go there
When I go there, I'll be wearing purple ribbons
When I go there
When I go there, I'll be dancing in the street
When I go there
When I go there...
We can go to Mexico
