SS : I love Venice… we cruised into a beautiful day here… stunning really. We shopped and tasted and sipped our way through this famous city of canals.

We must have walked a mile and a half each way from the pier… the Dream is a big girl and perhaps she couldn’t have fit any closer to old Venizia. The brisk stroll made for great exercise and a warm-up if you will to the canal bridges!

Venice is a must-see if you’ve never been. My favorite thing here is the color… lots and lots of color! From the sweet candy and dessert dressed windows to Venetian masks and the striped-shirted gondoliers to the fun little paper bags they use to wrap your purchases, Venice is all about color. The city is known for its hand made glassware known as Murano. Beautiful decanters, wine and liquer glasses, beads, pendants, figurines…
Donna and I found a lovely little Pizzeria and enjoyed a pie and a beer before heading back to the ship for another night of comfort before venturing back out in the morning. Buono noté!
